WELCOME TO PORT MACQUARIE TACKING POINT LIONS CLUBLions Clubs International was formed in 1917. Today there are 1.3 million men and women in Lions Clubs in 205 countries and geographic areas conducting vision and health screenings, building parks, supporting eye hospitals, awarding scholarships, assisting youth and providing humanitarium help in time of local and International disasters The Port Macquarie–Tacking Point Lions Club was formed in 1997 and has a membership of 38. The Club meets on the first and third Wednesdays at The Port Macquarie Golf Club. Fellowship commences at 6.30pm with dinner at 7.00pm. Meetings generally conclude at about 9.30pm. Would you like to become a Lion?Lions Club members are men and women who strive to make a difference in their local community as well as in communities worldwide. Lions Clubs embrace men and women who share the common ideal of providing assistance to those in our community who are less fortunate than themselves and at the same time, enjoy each others company and have fun doing it. Membership is open to men and women over the age of 18 years and of good moral character and reputation. COMMUNITY SERVICEDEMENTIA WALK The Lions Club of Port Macquarie in conjunction with the Port Macquarie ANZ Bank and the Port Macquarie Hospital are developing a Dementia Patient Walking Path within the Hospital grounds. For further detail click here. CATERING With a grant from Port Panthers Club, the Tacking Point Lions Club have built a self contained Catering Van. Our Catering Van can provide assistance to the Police, SES and other local Emergency Services groups in the event of disasters such as a flood or a bush fire. The van is also available to assist local community groups with their fund raising fetes or community awareness projects. For further details click here. |
